Terminally Ill @ Ground Zero Studios
The only thing better than a show, even if it is a short one, is a show right in your back yard. The Punk Pack cannot resist a show with Terminally Ill. Headlined by Conflict Resolution at Ground Zero Studios, it has been a pleasure attending shows at this venue. Even more an excellent night for friends old and new.
Opening for the evening was Terminally Ill, one of the Punk Pack’s favorite Cali rap/punk bands. Since having last seen them, Evan Williams of Skull Drug has joined as Terminally Ill’s bassist. What that means for Skull Drug? We’ll just have to see what works. What we can say that Evan and “Uncle” Stephan together is a blast of chaos the Pack has missed. Though majority of the songs played were old favorites, it’s just a treat for the Pack to catch them any time they are touring or just in town.
Closing up the night was Conflict Resolution, a local thrash punk band. Though it was a struggle to decipher the blazing fast lyrics, it’s never hard to let the sound take you in. Vince Ledesma (Vox) tames the energy and demands your focus during their set. Conflict Resolution became an absolute jam for the Pack with first impressions being down-to-earth with a healthy amount of humor; teasing Terminally Ill with a brief calamity of guitars and drums followed by abrupt silence before thanking them for opening.
The evening was short, but it was sweet. While the music was still pounding in our ears, it was more of a night for friends and acquaintances. Most of the set change was seeing these incredible personalities and getting to know them. It’s always a good time with Terminally Ill. Conflict Resolution, we’ll be looking our for your next show. It was awesome to meet you all and the Pack are excited to find more shows coming to Ground Zero.
